WOLVERHAMPTON: Rayan Ait-Nouri celebrates his debut for Wolverhampton Wanderers with a goal that helped the Midlands club beat Crystal Palace 2-0 at Molineux, thus jumping to third place in the English Premier League.

The Wolves now match the points of the top two clubs from Merseyside, Everton and defending champions Liverpool.

Ait-Nouri, the only change made to the Wolves’ 1-1 draw against Newcastle earlier, needed just 18 minutes to put the hosts ahead through their first try.

Earlier, Michy Batshuayi’s goal for Palace was revoked by the referee due to offside.

Daniel Podence strengthened the Wolves’ lead in the 27th minute by taking advantage of Pedro Neto’s cross.

Palace were unfortunate when Luka Milivojevic was sent off at the end of the game after a VAR rating found him to be rude to Wolves substitute Joao Moutinho.
