PARIS: Romelu Lukaku helped Belgium advance to the finals of the UEFA Nations League by scoring two goals in a 4-2 win over Denmark.

Italy also advanced to the last four after beating Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-0.

The world number one team, Belgium only need to draw in the last match of Group 2 League A against Denmark at home.

Belgium opened the scoring through Youri Tielemans and Denmark equalized through Jonas Winds.

Lukaku exploded twice in the second half and Kevin De Bruyne ensured victory for Roberto Martinez’s squad after Thibaut Courtois allowed a pass from behind Nacer Chadli to pass for his own goal.

Italy led Group 1 with a victory in Sarajevo thanks to goals from Andrea Belotti and Domenico Berardi who put them one point ahead of the Netherlands.

The Netherlands bounced back to beat Poland 2-1 with captain Georginio Wijnaldum scoring the winning goal after the Memphis Depay penalty erased Kamil Jozwiak’s opening goal.

Italy and Belgium join Spain and the French World Cup champions in the final tournament to be held in Italy in October next year.
