De Gea: We Play Like Kids

MANCHESTER: Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea slammed his team-mate for playing like a child when thrashed 5-0 by Liverpool at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils were humiliated at home by their traditional rivals who feasted on goals through Naby Keita, Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah’s hat -trick.

De Gea returned brilliantly in United’s goal this season but was unable to stop Liverpool’s four goals in the first half and another after the break.

“We played like kids. I feel the misery of our supporters, you give everything for the team and we have to do the same.

“I love this club and we will not accept a performance like this,” the goalkeeper said after the match.

United were taunted by their own supporters at the end of the first half and thousands of fans began to leave Old Trafford early in the second half.

Cristiano Ronaldo also blamed himself and his teammates for the defeat while promising United’s immediate resurgence.

“There were times when it wasn’t the result we expected. This was entirely our fault. Our supporters were once again unwavering in their support.

“They deserve better than this, and it’s up to us to fulfill it. The time is now,” Ronaldo said.
