LONDON: Chelsea and Leicester face fines after being charged by the English Football Association (FA) following a fight during the English Premier League clash last Tuesday.

Players including reserve and coaching staff of both teams were involved in the fight after Ricardo Pereira fouled Ben Chilwell in injury time.

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger was furious with the rudeness and the situation escalated following Daniel Amartey’s insult to the Chelsea flag after last Saturday’s FA Cup final.

With next season’s Champions League qualifier at stake, Amartey’s decision to go down to the pitch and join the fight further heated up the situation.

Both clubs allegedly failed to control their respective players and officials and were given until Tuesday to respond.

Speaking after the match, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel said: “It’s not easy when you lose in a tough match.

“We had to accept it. We respect the FA Cup final but it’s getting hotter. It’s hard when losing in an important match.

“I was aware of the incident. I didn’t talk about it before the game. The players were aware of it too.”
