PARIS: Finland ruined Marcus Thuram’s appearance after beating France 2-0 on the day of Borussia Moenchengladbach striker following in the footsteps of his father, Lilian Thuram making his first appearance with the Les Bleus squad.

Thuram was selected by Didier Deschamps for a friendly at the Stade de France after 22 years his father won the World Cup on the same court, but his good performance on the left wing failed to stop Finland from winning the match.

The 23-year-old’s attempt hit the post after 15 minutes of play as he and Lucas Digne continued to threaten the visitors.

However Marcus Forss surprised the hosts when he took the ball after Moussa Sissoko’s mistake and blasted into the corner of goal controlled by Steve Mandanda.

Deschamps brought in Antoine Griezmann, Anthony Martial and N’Golo Kante after an hour of play but failed to break the Finnish fort.
