DORTMUND: Erling Braut Haaland broke another Champions League record when he scored two goals in Borussia Dortmund’s 3-0 win over Club Brugge.

Haaland’s 18th-minute opening goal made him the first player to score 15 goals in 12 games – the number of appearances compared to other players in tournament history.

The 20-year-old Norwegian surpassed the record of 19 matches held by Ruud van Nilsterooy and Roberto Soldado.

“Erling is an amazing player. He works hard on and off the field, he deserves all these achievements.

“I was happy to make the pass for his opening goal because he was very sharp,” said teammate Jadon Sancho.

Haaland added a second-half goal for Dortmund to secure the top spot in Group F.

With two games remaining, Lucien Favre’s side are now one point ahead of second-placed Lazio, and five points ahead of third-placed Brugge.
