BERGAMO, Italy: Liverpool striker Diogo Jota praised the performance with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane who improved his style of play as he scored a hat-trick in a 5-0 win over Atalanta in the Champions League.

“I have played with the best team in my career so far,” said the 23-year-old, who has been playing for four games in a row since moving from Wolves in September.

The Portuguese became the second player to score in the first two Champions League appearances for Liverpool since Robbie Keane in 2008, after opening the scoring in a 2-0 win over Midtjylland previously.

Jota scored twice in the first half before completing a hat-trick in the 55th minute of the game at Bergamo after Salah and Mane added two goals after a break in northern Italy.

“Obviously they (Mane and Salah) are two world class players. We all know the qualities they have that make it easy for me to do the job because they are amazing and go through great matches today.

“Five goals, it doesn’t always happen. We scored the first goal so it was a good time for me and the team, and then we could do it our way.”
