MILAN: Juventus, who had to play 10 people, lost for the first time in Serie A this season when they defeated Fiorentina 3-0 at home.

The defeat came hours after hours after the defending champions were informed that they had to hold a match against Napoli which was canceled on October 4 because the opponents did not want to go to Turin due to the COVID-19 case.

Napoli won their appeal to the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) after being given a 3-2 defeat and a one-point cut due to a refusal to play in Turin.

As a result, Juventus, who previously collected 27 points, now have 24 points to be in fourth place, tied with Napoli and Roma, but seven points behind leaders AC Milan.

“It is not a problem for us to face Napoli, but it is not fair for other visitors who lost points due to not playing due to COVID-19.

“I sympathize with them more than we do. What happened is not the reason for our defeat.

“We started the game with the wrong attitude. When you start like this, you get into trouble,” said Juve manager Andrea Pirlo.
