Lampard Not Worried About Chelsea’s Performance

LONDON: Frank Lampard insists Chelsea players will not blame him after a sloppy performance that threatens their season this time around.

The Chelsea manager is under pressure after four defeats in six Premier League appearances causing the Blues to fall to ninth place.

Lampard has talked to his team many times in an effort to find a way to create victory and he realizes it is difficult to please all his players.

The 42-year-old manager expects players who can’t be with the squad to be disappointed, but he believes they will feature real action on the field instead of criticizing the boss from behind.

“The experience is in the squad, I can say clearly sometimes what players say will be heard in the open world and what happens inside is not always the same thing,” Lampard said.

“I hate associating old things when I was with the club because everyone must be bored with it, especially the players.

“Where at the moment we are far from winning the Premier League title for a period of several years.

“When you redevelop the team, you will find something to help improve this squad. When you are developing you go through a difficult time. They have to respond, they have to go through it.

“Players have to do it. I look closely at the players, just like I see myself because the players will do it on the field but I am always ahead.”

Chelsea will face Morecambe in the third round of the FA Cup tomorrow in a bid to regain their performance after a 3-1 defeat against Manchester City last week.
