Mourinho Thinks More Pressure On Lampard

LONDON: Jose Mourinho says the pressure is more on Frank Lampard’s big-spending squad, ahead of tomorrow’s meeting with Tottenham at Stamford Bridge.

However, the Spurs manager said it was not as great as the pressure on him when he was the boss at Chelsea.

Mourinho, who has coached Manchester United, Real Madrid and Inter Milan, said: “When I was in these clubs, the pressure was quite heavy – now the pressure is not so high on their operators.”

Spurs start this weekend as the Premier League leaders.

But Mourinho claims he does not feel depressed, compared to Lampard – who once played under his control – who needs to embody something after spending big this season.

“When you become the team of choice, you know why you are the team of choice. You have to accept it and deal with that pressure and responsibility.

“I used to be in a club where the championship was a target because big investments were made. I had to deal with that pressure.

“So now there is no pressure for me, it is for others to face it. We just want to win the next match,” he said.
