PARIS: Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star Neymar has been suspended for two games in Ligue 1 after being sent off when his side lost to title challengers Lille last week, the French League (LFP) said.
The Brazilian striker was shown two yellow cards – the second for a foul for pushing Tiago Djalo, who was also sent off. Neymar also strained his neck with Djalo as he headed to the dressing room.
He will miss Saturday’s match against Strasbourg and meet struggling Saint-Etienne on April 18. It was the second time Neymar had been sent off in the campaign and the fourth time since joining PSG from Barcelona.
The defending champions are three points behind new Ligue 1 leaders Lille, with seven games remaining.
