LONDON: The pairing of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo has become a dream of many fans and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are reportedly thinking about how it can come true.
PSG completed Messi’s signing this week after the player left Barcelona.
It means the Argentine star will form a dangerous pairing with Neymar and Kylian Mbappe – although Mbappe could leave the club next season if he does not want to renew his contract.
Diario AS reports that PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi is interested in signing Juventus star Ronaldo should Mbappe decide to move to Real Madrid.
It is said Al-Khelaifi does not want to sell Mbappe this summer despite believing the French striker will not sign a new deal to remain at the Parc des Princes beyond this season.
Letting Mbappe go on a free will be a big threat but Ronaldo could also be signed on a free next summer if he does not renew his contract at Juventus.
It could see the prospect of attracting three strikers including Neymar who became the top three names grabbing the Ballon D’or title in 2015 and 2017.
Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes reportedly said he was ‘ready for anything’ and it was also an added motivation for the transfer.
