Salah Is The World’s Best Player

LONDON: Jamie Carragher is confident that Mohamed Salah is the best player in the world at the moment by overtaking Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

But is it statistically proven?

One scored an interesting solo goal against Manchester City yesterday – his ninth goal of the season.

After the match, Carragher, who is also a Liverpool legend, insisted that “I don’t think there are any better players in the world or in Europe at the moment, I don’t think (other players).”

Based on statistics from last season, Salah scored 40 goals in 60 appearances in addition to recording six assists.

In comparison, Messi has 39 goals and 12 assists in 52 games while Ronaldo has scored 41 goals and five assists in 51 games.

Salah also recorded one goal and one assist every 101 minutes during the period.

Messi is involved in scoring goals every 89 minutes while Ronaldo contributes every 92 minutes.

The Liverpool star also has a better finishing rate, scoring with 20.5 per cent of his attempts towards goal.

Messi scored with 13.7 percent of his attempts compared to Ronaldo’s 17.2 percent.

Messi completed 63.1 percent of his slips – more than 20.7 percent of Salah.

Ronaldo, meanwhile, completed 59.6 percent of his slips.
