LONDON: The Swiss Football Association has confirmed Liverpool star Xherdan Shaqiri tested positive for the COVID-19 test.

Shaqiri became the Reds’ third player who tested positive for the virus after Thiago Alcantara and Sadio Mane.

“In discussions with the health authorities, he (Shaqiri) needs to undergo quarantine,” the Swiss Football Association said.

“We will work with local health authorities on how to keep the team free from this pandemic.”
