BURNLEY, United Kingdom: Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says a visit to Anfield to meet defending Premier League champions Liverpool on Sunday is just in time.
United lead the league for the first time in three years after Paul Pogba scored 1-0 in Burnley and beat Liverpool three points.
“It was the best position. We knew we would go to the championship site, they had a great season for three and a half years, we knew it would be a tough match, but we were ready.
“It was the best time to meet them because we were in good performance, thirsting for success and the players wanted to do better,” Solskjaer said.
Solskjaer also praised Pogba’s contribution which is still considered a milestone in United’s rise this season.
“I always say Paul is an important player for us. He is a good character in the dressing room, respected because he is a world champion.
“We see Paul’s best performance so far. He is getting better with every match,” he said.
