Tottenham Hotspur Still Far Behind

LIVERPOOL: The legend at Anfield does not feel that his former club will fall into the hands of Jose Mourinho’s squad early this morning.

Harry Kane is the only Tottenham player to be included in the Liverpool squad according to Graeme Souness, who said Spurs are “still far behind” the Reds.

Tottenham are currently in the top of the league after 12 games this season and the squad has not lost since losing in the opening match against Everton in August with seven wins and four draws.

Spurs dropped points at Crystal Palace on Sunday and gave Liverpool a chance to return to the stage by beating Fulham at Craven Cottage, but the defending champions failed to take a chance.

Jurgen Klopp’s squad also drew 1-1 meaning they are still behind in second place based on the goal difference before this week’s clash.

The Spurs will go to Anfield realizing they can show real abilities as title contenders by beating the Reds, but Souness believes there is still a huge gap in quality between the two teams.

“Liverpool are stronger in all areas and Spurs are still a long way to go,” said Souness.

“The only Spurs player to join Liverpool’s starting line-up is Kane, because Sadio Mane can do whatever Son does, he will fight with you.

“I do not see Liverpool as easily overthrown as Arsenal, although there are more chances to do so without Virgil Van Dijk and Fabinho, their best defenders with four defenders.”
