Trent Alexander-Arnold Sidelined For 4 Weeks
LIVERPOOL: Trent Alexander-Arnold gave Liverpool a huge blow after he was sidelined for four weeks with a calf injury.
The right-back has been ruled out of England with an injury to the Reds 1-1 against Manchester City on Sunday.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was worried about the defender’s injury until he asked the English Premier League (EPL) to re-introduce five reserve players.
The German operator said: “It lacks leadership. Richard Masters did the wrong thing, that’s all I understand.
“The team needs to understand why it helps. It is not an advantage, it is a necessity. It is done by all other countries, it happens.”
In addition to missing out on international competition with England, Alexander-Arnold’s problems disrupted the Reds’ efforts to retain the league title.
The 22-year-old will be sidelined for his club’s EPL competition against major league rivals Leicester City as well as Brighton and Wolves.
Alexander-Arnold will also only be in the audience seat for Liverpool in the Champions League against Atalanta and Ajax at Anfield.
