MANCHESTER: Manchester United supporters flock to Old Trafford ahead of the Premier League clash against Liverpool to protest against the club’s owners.

A large group of supporters gathered outside the stadium, on the day Manchester City could be crowned champions if United lost.

Hundreds of supporters managed to get into the field and chanted “we want the Glazers out”.

Anger over the Glazer family, which owns the club’s largest share, resurfaced after United were involved in a European Super League plan that lasted only 48 hours.

United supporters wore green and gold shirts – the colors of the Newton Heath club which was founded in 1878 and became Manchester United 24 years later – as a sign of protest.

United executive vice -chairman Ed Woodward has announced his resignation effective later this year following the failure of the European Super League project.
