Liverpool: Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta praised his men after surviving for more than an hour with 10 players when he binds Liverpool without a network in the last half-final of the League Cup in Anfield today.

“The player shows a high spirit and determination. You see his emotions, we never give up,” Arteta said.

The Gunners seemed to be punished after the captain of the team, Granite Xhaka was reddressed in the 24th minute following violence on Dioogo Jota.

However, The Reds clearly missed Mohamed Mohamed and Sadio Mane after struggling to create opportunities even more than a player.

Losing Xhaka saw Arteta forced to sacrifice Eddie Nketiah when bringing in Rob Holding and five defense of visitors survived with Liverpool more dominate the match.

“I do not know that the red card burns the player’s spirit but it’s challenge to us.

“You need a certain attitude to play in this game and players do it,” added Arteta.

Chelsea awaited the winner for this clash and despite losing their two best players, Jurgen Klopp remained lowering his best player lineup.

“We prefer to score from the opponent’s team getting a red card.

“Starting from that moment, we seem to be more depressed. But this is a reciprocal match.

“When 0-0 at half-time, I considered us like no chance but we will continue to give the best action,” Klopp said.
