LONDON: German champions Bayern Munich have to apologize to Manchester City after announcing the departure of English Premier League (EPL) star Leroy Sane.

A picture of the 55-million-pound German team wearing his new club jersey has been circulating on social media since last night.

Sane, 24, spent a day in Munich yesterday completing medical examinations and meeting with club officials at the training ground.

However, Bayern was disappointed that the transfer could not be completed last night, forcing the club to apologize for the mistake.

However, Sane is expected to earn an additional 20 million pounds over five years at Bayern.

He is expected to receive a salary of 385,000 pounds a week from Bayern or about 19.8 million pounds a year.

In addition, he also received a reward of 10 million pounds from the club.
