LISBON: Corentin Tolisso says the team looking for a treble title, Bayern Munich should be worried about their former club, Lyon in the semi-finals of the Champions League early this morning as the Bavarian squad wants to continue their greatness after thrashing Barcelona.

“From a German point of view, Lyon may be the least recognizable team. But facing Manchester City, we all see what they can do,” said the French midfielder who joined Bayern from Lyon in 2017.

“We can’t underestimate them. When it comes to big matches, Lyon is always there.

“No team qualifies for the semi-finals by chance,” said the 2018 World Cup winner who appeared to be listed on the bench for the match.

Two second-half substitutes Moussa Dembele helped Lyon sideline Pep Guardiola’s side in the Champions League and Bayern did not want to follow in the same footsteps.

After beating Barcelona 8-2 in the quarter-finals, there was high determination at the Bayern camp.

Defender Jerome Boateng compared the current squad to the 2013 team that won the first Bundesliga treble, the German Cup and the Champions League title in the club’s history.

“Honestly I realized from day one that something big was going on,” Boateng said of the 2013 squad.

“It simply came to our notice then.

“We played better in the Champions League from the start than we did in the Bundesliga.”
