Brazilian Club Uses DJ To Enliven Stadium

RIO DE JANEIRO: Brazilian major clubs are using DJs to support their players and reduce the atmosphere in empty stadiums due to the effects of COVID-19 transmission.

DJ Franklin Scheleger warmed up the atmosphere for Rio de Janeiro club Fluminense who played at home near the Maracana when the absence of supporters was simply replaced by screams of players and coaches.

“The main challenge is how to adapt to the action,” Scheleger said.

Scheleger, 29, used to be on duty at the event organized by the club but he is now assigned to replace the noisy cheers of Fluminense supporters by listening to recordings of cheers and songs of the host supporters.

“I’m proud to be a supporter of my favorite team, it’s an amazing feeling. Unimaginable!” he said.

Without their supporters, the Brazilian club relied on DJs but it certainly could not create the real atmosphere of a match that would have been impossible.

But it can help the team forget for a moment the prevalence of football after the authorities banned the fans for worrying about the spread of COVID-19.
