LONDON: David Silva has his final mission on his own final pageant appearance for himself with Manchester City which is scheduled to serve Real Madrid’s visit to the Etihad against Champions League rivals.

Silva has won 11 domestic trophies during his heyday at Manchester and was placed as one of the best import players in the English Premier League (EPL).

But despite City’s astonishing glory in the domestic rankings, they still haven’t won the Champions League trophy.

The 34-year-old star from Spain was one of the first famous players to accompany the revolution in Manchester.

Now, he has a mission to hunt for trophies that are still not in his collection. Silva has also been honored with Spain when he was in action at the World Cup and two European Championships.

City, which are still yet to be crowned European champions, are scheduled to meet 13-time winners Madrid, early Saturday morning Malaysian time with them having the advantage after streaking out a 2-1 win in the first match of the best of 16, last February.

The winners are scheduled to advance to the next rank which will take place in Lisbon this month.

Kevin De Bruyne, who has enjoyed being with Silva since five years ago, said his teammates would leave a deep impression when he left Etihad.

“He will be longed for,” said the Belgian midfielder. “It’s a good thing if we can win the Champions League, so he will be a good observer for him.”

De Bruyne also believes that Silva is one of the best players in the EPL.

“You can always argue over who’s number one but if you play with him you’ll appreciate what he does,” he said.
