BARCELONA: Lionel Messi’s father told Spanish media today, that his son will join Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

When asked by reporters at Barcelona’s El Prat airport whether the Argentine star would sign a contract with the French club, Jorge Messi, who is also the player’s agent, said: “Yes”.

Jorge Messi was surrounded by reporters as he arrived at the airport shortly before his son flew to Paris.

PSG spent the last few days finalizing a deal to sign Messi after leaving Barcelona, the club he represented throughout his 17 -year professional career.

Messi at a sad farewell press conference in Barcelona on Sunday admitted that joining PSG was a “possibility”.

Asked if the player was sad to leave Barcelona, Jorge Messi said: “Did you see it?”.

When asked who was wrong until the six -time Ballon d’Or winner left the Catalan team, he said: “Ask the club”.
