LONDON: Fulham will take on Brentford in the Champions League playoff final after killing Cardiff 3-2 on aggregate despite losing 2-1 in reciprocal action in the latter half.

Curtis Nelson opened the network after eight minutes for Cardiff to close the gap, but he only lasted less than a minute if Neeskens Kebano returned to equalize.

Fulham had several chances to widen the gap before the break, but instead threatened Cardiff’s revival after turnover Lee Tomlin met his target with his first touch early in the second half.

Scott Parker’s control squad, however, maintains their aggregate advantage to order a meeting of neighboring West London with Brentfod at Wembley on August 4.

The meeting promises an increase to the English Premier League which is worth 170 million pounds for the winner.

“It is not interesting right away. It is the worst beginning you can imagine.

“The strength of 2-0 is a bit complicated when you think about it. It feels like it’s comfortable but at the same time it’s the other way around.

“We are disappointed by ourselves if we do not play as usual, and makes us depressed,” said Fulham captain Tom Cairney.
