LONDON: Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus says he can imagine himself towering a Champions League trophy and his squad is now stronger to make that dream come true.

The 23-year-old Brazilian performed brilliantly in a 2-1 win over 13-time champions Real Madrid which propelled them to the final tribal rankings.

Jesus’ offering eased some of the concerns City had lost to top netters Sergio Aguero ahead of the final tribal action in Lisbon this Saturday.

Pep Guardiola – who last won a trophy in 2011 with Barcelona – and his City squad flew to Portugal today.

“We need to plant dreams. I can imagine myself holding the trophy.

“But I realize the reality is different, we need to work, show prevalence. Trying to win is the most important thing.

“As a squad, we have matured more and more since being eliminated in the previous edition of the Champions League. We learn from disappointment,” said Jesus.
