MANCHESTER, United Kingdom: Pep Guardiola praised David Silva as “amazing” as the Manchester City planner once again excelled as his team thrashed Newcastle United 5-0 last week.

Silva blasted a fantastic free kick and planned to goal Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling in action at the Etihad Stadium.

The 34-year-old will leave City at the end of the season after 10 years.

Although all the matches are now closed for COVID-19, Guardiola wants Silva back for a farewell match to allow City supporters to pay him the real respect.

“It’s not just today’s amazing match, but what he’s been doing for the past 10 years,” Guardiola said.

“When the crowd returns to the Etihad Stadium, we will have a farewell match for one of the club’s legends.

“He’s probably the best in a tight space. Moving between lines, I’ve never seen anyone like him.

“He came back from the bracket with amazing performance and the best rhythm. If he decides to keep playing, he can play anywhere. There is no doubt about it.”
