BASEL, Switzerland: Ilkay Gundogan is outraged when Germany draws for the second time in a week and is in third place in the UEFA Nations League group after Switzerland bounced back to tie them 1-1.

Gundogan opened the scoring for Germany in the 14th minute before Swiss right-back Silvan Widmer equalized in the 58th minute in Basel.

After being tied with the same result in Stuttgart by Spain last Thursday, Germany were again conceded after leading the game.

“I was pretty upset. It started testing my patience. We had already started seeing it in the first half, we lost the ball easily.

“We were in a good position, but again we did not win. We lost cause and fatigue. It was very annoying,” Gundogan said.

Meanwhile, German manager Joachim Loew admitted his team’s weakness and promised to rise in the next match in October.

“We allowed them to return to the game, often losing the ball and failing to make the right decisions, so this is the right decision.

“We will return to attack in October (against Ukraine at home and Switzerland at home),” Loew said.
