Iceland’s Goalkeeper Will Strengthen Arsenal

LONDON: Arsenal are in talks to sign Iceland goalkeeper Runar Alex Runarsson.

According to reports, Mikel Arteta wants the 1.5 million pound goalkeeper to replace Emiliano Martinez.

The Argentine goalkeeper joined the league challenger, Aston Villa.

According to the Telegraph, Arsenal have been in talks with Ligue 1 club Dijon where Runarsson has been playing for the past two seasons.

The 25-year-old scored five caps for Iceland and became part of the 2018 World Cup squad.

Arsenal goalkeeper coach Inaki Cana did get to know Runarsson after working with the previous club, Nordsjaelland.
