Juventus Welcome Morata Loan With Open Arms

Alvaro Morata was loaned back to Juventus a year from Atletico Madrid, according to both clubs.

The Serie A champion confirmed the transfer last night which saw the Spanish striker return to color Serie A for the second time.

Juve will pay Atletico €10 million with the Italian club having the option to buy the 27-year-old striker for €45m or pay another €10m to continue borrowing him for the next campaign.

If the Bianconeri choose to extend the loan, they can tie Morata for € 35m at the end of the 2021-22 season.

According to a Juve statement: “Memory is revealed again to remember the past but it is also to inject new (strength) and we look forward to once again drawing more memories!

Morata contributed 27 goals in 93 games over two seasons in Turin between 2014 and 2016.

He then returned to Real Madrid for a year before traveling to Chelsea and then Atletico, where he blasted 12 LaLiga goals in 34 games last season.

Following Gonzalo Higuain’s departure to Inter Miami, Juve have been linked with Barcelona’s Luis Suarez and Roma’s Edin Dzeko to strengthen their options on the offensive machinery.

Morata’s move paved the way for Suarez to line up at Atletico.

Juve won nine Serie A titles in a row and opened their campaign under new manager Andrea Pirlo with a 3-0 win over Sampdoria on Sunday.
