LONDON: Jurgen Klopp has told Liverpool fans to be prepared for the announcement of Thiago Alcantara after the Spanish midfielder admitted to leaving European champions Bayern Munich.

Thiago is expected to undergo a medical examination today before completing a move to Liverpool at a price of 20 million pounds with an additional 5 million pounds.

The 29-year-old is believed to have agreed to sign a four-year contract at Anfield.

“It is not official as long as it has not been announced and I am not the person to announce it, so I do not know what I can say now.

“It looks positive. I can’t do anything right now. For all Liverpool supporters, you can follow LFC’s official website, that will help,” Klopp said.

Thiago joined Bayern after being signed by Pep Guardiola in 2013 but with his contract remaining one year, he delayed the contract extension.

“I made the toughest decision in my sports career. I will close a wonderful scene with this club where I grew as a player for seven years.

“As a football player I want a new challenge to further develop myself,” Thiago said on social media.
