Liverpool Dominate The First Eleven

LONDON: The PFA Best Annual Team has been announced and it was no surprise when it was dominated by Liverpool which placed its five players in the squad.

Jurgen Klopp’s side won their first major league title in 30 years by scoring 99 points – 18 over nearest rivals Manchester City.

Jordan Henderson added another milestone in the season by joining the top eleven for the first time in his career.

His teammates, Sadio Mane, Andrew Robertson, Virgil Van Dijk and PFA Player of the Year Trent Alexander-Arnold, are all in the starting line-up for the second consecutive season.

Manchester City have two representatives including the latest award winner, Kevin De Bruyne.

Pep Guardiola’s squad is also represented by David Silva, who left the club after 10 years and gave him four Premier League titles.

Leicester City also featured two representatives through Gold Shoe winner Jamie Vardy along with Caglar Soyuncu.

England and Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope beat rivals Alison Becker, Ederson and Dean Henderson to be on the team after a great season in Sean Dyche’s squad.

The last player was Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who scored 22 goals last season.
