LONDON: Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has been arrested on Mykonos Island, Greece for allegedly assaulting police after being involved in a fight outside a bar, according to local media reports.

The 27-year-old central defender was seen by the police fighting with other tourists from Britain, early this morning.

When police tried to disperse him, three British men allegedly physically attacked again and questioned their detention.

Following the incident, three individuals were arrested – one of whom was Maguire who was also reportedly handcuffed.

United in a statement issued said: “The club took note of the allegations involving Maguire in Mykonos last night (early this morning).

“We have contacted Harry and he has given full cooperation to the Greek authorities. For now, we will not give any further statement,” he said.
