Neymar At Risk Of Missing Champions League Final

LISBON: Neymar faces the risk of being suspended in the Champions League final after the PSG player changed his jersey following a win over RB Leipzig.

The Brazilian violated the COVID-19 protocol set by the European Football Union (UEFA) when he was seen changing his jersey with Marcel Halstenberg after the French giants’ 3-0 victory.

“Players are advised to avoid changing jerseys,” among the rules outlined by UEFA in the “Protocol back to play”.

It also outlines any protocol violations “will face disciplinary action in accordance with the UEFA Disciplinary Rules”.

According to reports before the tournament resumes, the change of jersey during the mini tournament in Lisbon will lead to a 12-day isolation.

UEFA’s official protocol, however, does not explain in detail the quarantine period in the case of jersey exchange.

But with PSG now facing Bayern Munich or Lyon in this Sunday’s final, the Brazilian star is unlikely to play.
