PARIS: Rennes, who will be playing for the first time in the Champions League in their history this season, started the Ligue 1 2020/2021 campaign with a 1-1 draw near Lille earlier this morning.

Jonathan Bamba gave the hosts an early goal through a low kick after receiving an Xeka pass, five minutes after Rennes played 10 men after Sacha Boey fouled Lille’s Reinildo.

Mozambique international Reinildo was later sent off two minutes before the end of an attack on Raphinha.

Rennes scored one point after a goal from Damien Da Silva, who welcomed Eduardo Camavinga from a corner to equalize as both teams played 10 men.

Camavinga, 17, wants to stay in Rennes despite reports that Real Madrid have shown interest in the midfielder.
