TURIN, Italy: Cristiano Ronaldo is once again tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of Juventus’ Champions League clash with former challenger Lionel Messi with Barcelona, according to media reports in Italy and Portugal.

TVI Portugal reports Ronaldo “once again tested positive for Covid-19” after a smear test made by Juventus.

The 35-year-old is currently awaiting the results of the UEFA test and if positive causes him to be sidelined from Group G here.

The first time Ronaldo tested positive was two weeks ago while playing for Portugal and undergoing quarantine since returning to Italy.

According to TV1, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has been tested positive 18 times.

Ronaldo needs to return negative 24 hours before the match to allow him to play according to UEFA rules.

Juventus have just confirmed that the player has recovered with Sky Sport Italia and Gazzetta Dello Sport has reported that Ronaldo will miss the action against Barcelona.
