PARIS: Sevilla deserved to be in the final half of the Europa League briefly after Lucas Ocampos’s header over Wolverhampton Wanderers as Shakhtar Donetsk beat Basel 4-1 to join the Spanish club in the last four.

Five-time champions, Sevilla will face Manchester United in Cologne this Sunday.

Sevilla’s goal from an Argentine header, Ocampos was two minutes from the end of the game, then gave a 1-0 victory when Shakhtar will meet Inter Milan on Monday in one more meeting.

Sevilla dominated the England opponent for most of the game, as Wolves’ dream of European glory was buried.

“I am proud of my players. We need a lot of patience in front of a very good squad,” said Sevilla coach Julen Lopetegui, with his squad now not killed in 19 matches for all competitions.

“We have goals, we are working hard … but we will play against Manchester United … the biggest squad of football in the world.”

Premiere League side Wolves feel they will make a perfect start in the 11th minute if Adam Traore races to a goal from home before being brought down by Diego Carlos.

However Raul Jimenez, who netted all eight penalties for Wolves, made a weak lick in front of Yassine Bounou who brushed off the Mexican’s lead.

In Gelsenkirchen, Shakhtar finished in the final group of four with a win over Basel thus giving Inter Milan something to think about in the next Monday meeting.

“I think it’s amazing because we worked hard and believed we could go to the final,” said netter Junior Moraes.

“If you want to test yourself, you need to oppose the troops that are at this highest stage.”
