MADRID: Real Madrid midfielder Oscar Rodriguez joins Sevilla on a five-year contract, the club announced today.

Oscar improved through the Madrid youth system but never appeared in the first team and spent two seasons at Leganes, scoring 13 goals and scoring six goals.

The Spaniard became one of Leganes’ top players last season despite being knocked out of the major leagues.

He is known as a free kick expert after scoring four goals last season from 16 attempts.

Sevilla paid Madrid around 15 million euros to get an Oscar, according to Spanish press reports.

“The 22-year-old has signed a five-season deal with the club,” a statement from Sevilla said.
