Solskjaer Has Ended Manchester United’s Bad Luck

LONDON: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has ended Manchester United’s defeat but now the operator has to find a winning formula at home when RB Leipzig travel to Old Trafford for the Champions League.

United’s defeat at the hands of Tottenham earlier this month forced Solskjaer to work hard to strengthen his side.

A 4-1 win over Newcastle followed by a 2-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain in Paris eased some pressure on the Norwegian operator.

But the sharpness at home is still in question when they drew without a goal against Chelsea last weekend, thus adding to the drought of United’s league victory at Old Trafford this season.

Solskjaer’s men became the first United squad since the 1972-73 season to fail to win the first three league games at home – putting them in the bottom of the league.

“We were not missed, there was a little pressure, we ended up in a row.

“We want to win, of course you want to win at home, but I think the week-long performance is pretty solid.

“We had a good week with two wins and one draw,” Solskjaer said.

The victory over the Bundesliga leaders will put United in the best position to finish Group H in the top two.

But Julian Nagelsmann’s RB Leipzig should not be underestimated after they also started the European campaign with a 2-0 victory over Istanbul Basaksehir.
