PARIS: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has praised Manchester United’s ‘excellent’ squad after Marcus Rashford’s late goal saw them win at Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League for the second time in three seasons.

“Their performance was good and we deserved to win. It was better than before and it showed how much we had improved,” Solskjaer said after a 2-1 win in Group H’s opening match at the Parc des Princes.

Rashford’s 87th minute goal gave United victory following Anthony Martial’s own goal equalizing after Bruno Fernandes’ penalty in the first half.

It gave the Premier League squad three points against last season’s runners-up and Solskjaer was happy when his defense managed to restrain the attacking trio of PSG, Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Angel Di Maria.

“We play against a great team and we have to defend well. The players have the key. I don’t think there are any secrets, we have to play well and defend well against PSG,” he said.
