We Are Not Arrogant – Klopp

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp responded to Chelsea counterpart Frank Lampard by saying the Blues boss still needed to learn a lot after saying the new England champion was “arrogant.”

When Liverpool won 5-3 last Thursday, Lampard clashed with Klopp’s assistant Pepijn Lijnders over the rudeness that led to a free kick taken by Trent Alexander-Arnold to make it 2-0.

“It was a clean game for Liverpool Football Club, they won the league but don’t be too proud of it,” Lampard said after the match.

Klopp denied the allegations and said Lampard should have learned not to face any clashes during the 90-minute game.

“You can’t slap me and my teammates in the seat with something like that because we are not arrogant,” Klopp said.

“Obviously Frank is in a very competitive situation and I really respect him. From my point of view in a situation like this, you can say what you want. For me after the match everything is over.

“I talked a lot before because because of his emotions, he came here to win or get one point, to qualify for the Champions League, and I have a lot of respect for him.

“But what he had to learn was to finish it on the last whistle but he did not.”

The clash between the two teams went viral with Lampard’s words clearly heard in the empty stadium.

“I think in terms of the language I use, I regret it, because I think it’s too much played back on social media,” Lampard said.
